Change of plans
After no consideration at all I’m thinking of leaving the Midwest and becoming a bum in New York City.

If I was to move anywhere it’d be the Pacific Northwest too. The climate is nice and I know people out there so I’d not be alone.

So why New York then? If you want to go to the NW why not?
How are you holding up?

Just curious - how do you support yourself?

I live in San Francisco in my car
Cool summers, never too cold winters.
I put a cover over my car. But there Are plenty of hippy vans being lived in.

The Pacific NW is much friendlier both socialy as well as weather wise to the homeless, probably among the best in the world. Also a great place to get around by bicycle.

You might want to consider Georgia. The climate around Columbus, GA is much better than the rest of the state. Plus, our ecconomy is doing better than most of what is on the news. This is because there is a military base here and they are getting ready for the troops from Ft. Knox to come here.
If you are interested feel free to email me. I would be happy to help you out.

I just followed your link to ‘bum in New York City. I can see why - with an average of $155,000 and is 22 percent higher than ‘average bum salaries for jjob postings nationwide.’ Catch the “Average Salary of Jobs with Related Titles” reflecting a Military Program Manager! What does this really say? LOL. I’m thinking of soon selling my home and all of my belongings, trading my VW New Beetle for a 27′ Fifth Wheel Toyhauler that I can customize myself and becoming a full-time RVer. My purpose though is an experiment in the use of energy that results in a minimal carbon print of my existence. I want to rather reflect the love and the heart of the Father wherever I go and pray that I am worthy to be called as a child of God. The Most High God - not any god - the Most High, father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the seed of which through the Holy Spirit gave the Spirit of life to Jesus as my savior. I pray things are going well for you. Do not give up, God has so much joy and contentment for you. You are not homeless - you are hopeful. God loves you.

I JUST found this website of yours. If I didn’t already enjoy being a Car Bum so much, I found this. Haha. Good luck in New York! That’s one of the places I want to go.
I recently had to junk my 1993 Blazer (Doggie bed in the back, comfy because I’m small) and I’m about to own a big conversion van. Temporarily I’m crashing at my parents’ until I have a car to put my stuff in. Which isn’t much. I can’t wait to save up and be out on the road again. I’ll be watching this blog of yours. :]

NYC??? I was born and raised here and though I’ve left several time, I still live here. This has to be one of the harshest environments ON THE PLANET! There’s a reason why so many movies are made here, so many urban legends/myths are born here, and so many people LEAVE here. This place is coarse… The people are abrasive. The weather is coarse. The vibe is coarse. It’s prohibitively expensive, there’s no place to park, and if you accidentally find yourself in one of the MANY bad neighborhoods here, you’ll can get severely injured or dead - period. People here will step right over a dead body and keep on going without a second glance. NY’ers are a special breed. How else can so many people exist in such a small expensive space without becoming callous? Forget it… there are thousands of friendlier places than here. If you’re looking for peace love and satisfaction, look elsewhere!
